A Puro Tejano Christmas rocks river, helps poor
By Chito de la Torre
On Wednesday, December 4, the Arneson River Theater is going to rock Tejano
style. Featuring live performances by Flaco Jimenez, La Diferenzia, Joel
Nava, Rick Orozco, and Nydia Rojas with Campanas de America, the concert will
benefit you the Tejano fan as well as many of the less fortunate.
A Puro Tejano Christmas is a combined effort by the producers of the Puro
Tejano television show and Arista Texas. They hope that the holiday cheer
they can spread with music can help San Antonio's hungry.
While it's only top-notch performers featured at the concert, you'll be able
to get in for peanuts, or beans or ham. You see to buy a ticket, all you have
to do is take three cans of food which will in turn be donated to the San
Antonio Food Bank.
Tickets will be available at the door, but because this number is limited, it
is recommended to get tickets in advance. Advance tickets can be piced up at
various drop off points around San Antonio:
- San Antonio Food Bank (4311 Director Dr. -- As of Nov. 18)
- Gillespie Ford (Loop 410 & Culebra Rd. -- As of Nov. 18)
- Hard Rock Cafe (111 W. Crockett St. -- Nov. 29-30 only)
With artists like those mentioned, this is going to be one happening event.
So don't miss out. You'll only be left with egg on your face.
