Last December 7th's issue of TV Guide covered what all of us here have known to be the greatest music around, Tejano.
The magazine's cover story, graced with an image of Selena, talked about the emerging power of Tejano, and it included short bios on artists like Emilio, Tropa F, La Mafia, La Diferenzia and Elida Reyna.
The short interview the did with Elida was interesting because they tried
to call her the next Selena, a claim she herself has never made. In fact Elida responded
to the statemen in this way: It'll never happen--what she was died with her." Elida,
who's new single "Lagrimas de Amor," the second off of her Algo Entero CD has just been
released, added that while Selena was aiming at the pop market, her intentions are to stay
strictly Tejana saying that "You won't hear me singing in English anytime soon."
