"Breaking Down the Barriers and Building a Reputation"

The voices of Dee and Delia are just one part of the total picture in the tremendous success of CULTURAS. The team of talented musicians that provide the driving beat are among the finest, including Carlos Silvas-keyboard, Steven Vasquez- drums, Mikey Macias- bass, TeeJay Gonzales-guitar, Johnny Grimaldo-accordion, and Kevin Russell-sax.

In their short history, CULTURAS has been honored by the industry several times over with such prestigious honors as "Most Promising Band" at the 13th Annual Tejano Music Awards, the TTMA Industry Awards "Rising Star Group" and "Rising Female Star", the 1993 Pura Vida Award "Best Tejano Group", the 4th Annual Latin Times Music Award "Vocal Duo of the Year", and the "Most Promising Band" at the 1st Annual Johnny Canales Music Awards. In addition they have made numerous television appearances, including "El Show de Johnny Canales", "Ritmo Internacional", "Padrisimo", and "Club Telemundo".

Signed with Manny Music and distributed by WEA Latina, the group's third smash hit album, entitled "BABA DICE" is rapidly approaching Gold Record status. Album cuts include, "Ya Me Canse", "Eres Tu", "Querida Amiga", and "Que Paso." CULTURAS is also noted for their previous Gold Record album "CULTURE SHOCK" featuring the smash hits "Loco Loco" and "Golpe Traidor", have been made into music videos. Two additional cuts, "Tu Linda Cara" and "Candyman's Jam." Other original hits by CULTURAS include "Besame," and "Ay! Mama." The group is considering many offers to bring their show into Mexico, where their number of fans is growing by leaps and bounds as the result of the Mexico-only release of the album, "CULTURAS". The album is a compilation of the group's best and most successful singles to date.

Breaking barriers and the traditional mold of Tejano groups was not the intention of CULTURAS when the band formed its distinct sound around the amazing talents of singers Dee Burleson and Delia Gonzales, Nor was it in mind when they added the talents of an Anglo sax player. The driving force in the group was to make the best music they possibly could with the most talented personal they could find that shared their collective dreams for success! This multicultural blend has come together to form far more than just another Tejano band.
