20th Annual Tejano Music Awards Final Nominees

The following are the candidates for the 20th annual Tejano Music Awards nominees to be officially announced January 29th at Tejano Texas.

As Tony Rivera of Sound Mex Records explained on the Tejano Journal, "Each record label nominates all of their artists for their perspective categories that they qualify for and then the perliminary ballot is sent out to industry professionals and TTMA Amigos. Those votes narrow the nominations down to the top 12 in each category. This is then turned into another ballot that will be sent to all registered voters on Dec. 7 so that you can vote and shrink the list to the top 4. That will become the final ballot that will be read at the awards. You must call TTMA (1-888-945-5803) by Dec. 2nd to register to become a VOTER for the 2000 awards."
