21th Annual Tejano Music Awards
News Release: The 2001 Tejano Music Awards FanFair is scheduled for Friday, April 6 at Sunset Station from noon to 2:00 am. Over 100 bands from Texas, New Mexico, Michigan, Arizona, Washington, California and Wisconsin. Band performance times will be posted throughout the Sunset Station on the day of the event. In addition, many more Tejano artists will be on hand throughout the day to meet their fans, sign autographs and take pictures. Expected attendance to the TMA FanFair is 30,000+ and is free to the public! The daylong celebration will include plenty of food and drink booths as well as sponsor exhibit booths with interaction games, contests, product sampling and giveaways. The 21st Annual Tejano Music Awards is scheduled for Saturday, April 7 and will be hosted by Tony Plana of Resurrection Blvd. Live performances by Kumbia Kings, Control, Jennifer Peñ & DJ Kane, Los Garcia Bros, Jimmy Gonzales y Mazz, Jay Perez, Elida y Avante, Gary Hobbs, Eddie Gonzales, Los Desperadoz, David Olivarez, Rodeo, Marcos Orozco and more! The show will be taped for TV and will be broadcasted at a later time and is expected to reach millions of viewers not only in the USA and Mexico but also in 170 foreign countries via the Armed Forces Television Network and the TMA television affiliates. The Texas Talent Musicians Association, producers of the Tejano Music Awards, is a non-profit Texas Chartered organization whose mission is to promote professional excellence; a better understanding and greater appreciation for Tejano Music, and to provide a public forum for songwriters, performers and musicians by recogizing their artistic efforts and achievements through the annual Tejano Music Awards and related events.
