March 5, 2002 "We're extremely excited about this years show" says TTMA President Robert Arellano. "The momentum has been building up over the last few months with people calling from all over the U.S. and Mexico. All of the performers and presenters for this years Tejano Music Awards are stars in their own right. We feel confident that this show will be one of the best ever in the history of the Tejano Music Awards", exclaimed Arellano. The Tejano Music Awards will be preceded by the TMA FanFair on Friday April 12, 2002 at Sunset Station, located adjacent to the Alamodome. This free event runs from noon to midnight and will feature over 90 bands performing on several entertainment stages with lots of food and drink booths, interactive games, artists autograph booths, sponsor giveaways and FUN for the entire family. The Texas Talent Musicians Association, producers of the Tejano Music Awards, is a non-profit Texas chartered organization whose mission is to promote professional excellence; a better understanding and greater appreciation for Tejano music; and to provide a public forum for songwriters, performers and musicians by recognizing their artistic efforts and achievements through the annual Tejano Music Awards and related events.
