Biography
Grupo Amor y Pasion is fronted by two
beautiful women: Diana and Dalila Munoz. They are sisters who were born
and raised in Idaho. They bring the added uniqueness of being able to perform
both duets and vocalize as individuals. Additionally, their performances
are geared around not only thier strong vocals, which lent themselves to
ballads, cumbias, rancheras, and mariachis, but also their energetic dance
routines. Thier hot band is led by Paul R Olivarri, lead guitarist and
second voice. Paul, a fifteen year veteran musician in the business.
Diana and Dalila, at age ten and
seven respectively, became influenced by their parents singing in church.
Soon after, they began performing with local Tejano group in Idaho led
by their uncle. At the age of fourteen and eleven, they moved to San Antonio,
Texas where they were exposed to the City's many Latin sounds and discovered
the richness of their culture. It is at this time that they realized their
calling ---- to become Latin Entertainers.
Diana began performing at Tejano
Festivals in San Antonio as special entertainer while also pursuing modeling
and commercials. Also, she participated with local dance groups. The extensive
dance training gives her the edge on her dynamic stage performance.. Her
influences include Gloria Estefan, Janet Jackson, Azucar Moreno, and Ana
Gabriel.
Dalila began performing with a San
Antonio Salsa group which soon earned her a position witht he established
Tejano group Inocencia. It is through theses experiences that she realized
that the greatest chemistry was with her sister. Together , they decided
to chase thier common dream. Dalila's influences include Gloria Estefan,
India, and Luis Miguel.
In1996, Diana and Dalila met Paul
R Olivarri at an industry function. Paul has established himself as one
of the top Tejano musicians in the industry. Paul has worked with Shelly
Lares, La Mafia, and Brano Mireles to name a few. Paul instantly recognized
their talent and charisma. Thus, Mirage was formed. They are now know as
Amor y Pasion
