"La Voz de Oro" David Marez

Biography

Marez was born in Mathis, Texas. Marez is known for his emotional song interpretations, believes in performing each song as though he personally experienced the emotion the song reflects.

"As a singer, it's good to be an entertainer, but you should never abandon what you're doing. In other words, don't let the showman take away from the interpretation."

"I let the song come first and the rest second because the mind and energy shouldn't split. One should put all heart and soul into each song."

"I'm very sentimental, so when I do love songs, whether they're happy or sad, I want to feel the words in me. I want my body to be the passage they take. To me music is like breathing. I have to have a dose of music daily and I'm always thinking musical thoughts."

"To me, getting off the stage is like coming back from a utopia"
