BIOGRAPHY

Grupo Evolucion hails from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, and
have been together 2 years. The group consists of vocalist
and guitarist Dori Ann Cobb, drummer Jesse Villareal, keyboardist
and accordian player Brian Vasquez,and bassist Joe Garcia.
This groups’ diverse style ranges from mostly Tejano, to Pop and
Country.
Evolucion’s vocalist and guitar player Dori Ann, has been performing since the age of 3. She initially began as a dancer and later turned her focus more on singing and playing the guitar. By the age of 16 she was performing alongside her brother in a country music band, and began to pursue a career in country music. Then one day while viewing the Johnny Canales Show, she saw Selena performing, and instantly fell in love with Tejano Music. Before long, Dori found herself playing guitar for the Dallas based Grupo Leyenda. She gained experience while perfroming with Grupo Leyenda, as they played various nightclubs and events in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. After their breakup, she began to look for other musicians to form her own group. She was performing with Grupo Illucion, when she was spotted by Jesse Villareal of Grupo Evolucion. He along with fellow band member Brian Vasquez, were looking for a singer and guitarist, they invited her to Join the group, and thus formed Dori Ann Y Evolucion. Dori Ann definitly proves that women are coming on strong in Tejano music, as she portrays a positive Image for females In this new generation. She may be petite, but she’s potent, and packs a punch that will leave you breathless. Dori has recently gone into the studio and recorded 2 song in which she wrote, and she and Evolucion plan to put together a 10 song CD to be released in the near future. Dori Ann Y Evolucion can currently be heard in the DFW. area perfroming at local clubs and events.
