Grupo Alamo was started in 1993 in San Antonio Tx, with a dream of making music for the people and being a band for the people. In the first few years the band started out playing in small clubs and private parties in San Antonio.

We particapted in the "Stay In School Program", playing concerts at schools in the area promoting Education and "Saying no to Drugs". Also particapting in Career Days at schools in the area, anytime we can we are happy to do so. During the Holidays the Band particaptes in several Charitable events such as Dinners and Food Drives. A big thing we enjoy is taking presents and suprising children at local schools.

In 1995 We were thrilled to find out that we were in the final nominations for the Pura Vida Awards in the catagory of Best Band, Self Produced. Then in 1997 two of our musicians were nominated in the catagory of (Best Musicican) at the Tejano Music Awards. Thery were for Best Drummer, Edward Mendoza, and Best Bass Player, Danny Rodriguez.

Now in 1998 here we are with "Ilusions" our first Production. The CD is filled with songs that will make you want to get up and dance the night away. The smooth vocals and tasteful music, along with the always fun filled cumbias make it a CD you would love to add to your collection. Grupo Alamo Band Members include Roger Garcia, Jose Lara, Ray Martinez, Ernest Gonzales Sr., Ernest "Ernie" Gonzales, Edward Mendoza, and Danny Rodriguez.

Addendum:
Grupo Alamo's first single, "Anzuelo De Amor", opended the doors for them not only in Texas, but also in Tuscon, New Mexico, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois. Their second single is "Camaron Pelao", which is doing very well across the USA and even showed up on Radio Y Musica. It made #9 on KEDA in San Antonio and #15 on Radio BESO in Lubbock.
