Jennifer Peña joins artists and dignitaries at
special reception to be held on October 9.
Woodland
Hills, CA—Jennifer Peña, the emerging Latin music superstar who has
held the number one spot on Billboard Magazine’s “Hot Latin Tracks”
chart for an impressive eight weeks, has been invited to perform at a special
White House reception in observance of Hispanic Heritage month.
Presenting
the pop version of the Rudy Perez written-and-produced hit single “El Dolor de
Tu Presencia (The Pain of Your Presence),” from her Univision Records release “Libre
(Free),” Jennifer is thrilled at the invitation to participate in the
annual ceremony along side U.S. President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura
Bush and top Administration officials such as U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Richard
Carmona, U.S. Treasurer Rosario Marin, Peace Corps Director Gaddi Vasquez and
U.S. Ambassador to the Dominican Republic Hans Hertell.
“It’s
incredible. I’m actually a little nervous”, says Jennifer. “I’ve never been
asked to perform in front of the president and I’m happy that he takes the time
to recognize Hispanic Heritage month this way.”
Jennifer
will join Miss Universe Justine Pasek, Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Nelson
Figueroa and Texas Rangers catcher Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez for a star-studded
commemoration of this important annual White House tradition. The ceremony will
take place on Wednesday, Oct. 9th at 1 p.m.
Still in
the midst a whirlwind international tour, Jennifer Peña has spent eight weeks
at the top of the radio charts with the song she will showcase at the
Washington reception.
Libre, released
in June, remains among the ten most popular albums sold in the U.S. and Puerto
Rico and is now certified Platinum.
