Now that La Mafia has taken a break for about a year and cleared their heads they're back and full of energy! As Oscar said on La Onda Network's interview during their Farewell Tour in Dallas, they would be back, "Maybe a year from now, maybe two". Well, with their first concert since they've last been in Dallas back in July 1999 , proves that they are back in full force.

With a new record label (FonoVisa) and with new members, La Mafia is ready for a new style. Again, as Oscar stated in the last interview, "... and we believe in changes. You have to make changes, if you don't make changes you will never get anywhere. Everything's a chance also, you have to takes chances in life.", said Oscar. And chances is exactly what they have planned. "We feel we're ready to go to the next level", said Mando. "There's definately a change in La Mafia all around", said Oscar, "I don't want people to think that they're going to continue to hear La Mafia as they did 10 years ago. You're going to hear a different Mafia tonight. You're going to hear what's set for the future. Right now the pop is in. We're going to face reality. The time has change and we're going to change with it". Oscar gave examples of artists who are keeping up with the times by mentioning Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Jennnifer Lopez, etc. Mando said, "The true Mafia fan are as versitle as we are. We have taken them tour a journey. Our fans we feel are very versitle, they'll understand what we're doing". Oscar said, "In the 80's we had the 80's sound, in the 90's we completely changed. And now we're in the year 2000, it's time to change again."

The new Mafia consists of the 5 original members, Mando, Tim, Oscar, David, and Michael, with 5 new members: Gino Barrientos, Pam, Brian, Lili Arce and Marion Aquilina.
