Hard Rock Cafe Unveils Mafia Grammy

HOUSTON--In an unprecedented move, Grammy Award-winning La Mafia will present the Houston Hard Rock Cafe with a Grammy statuette which will be on public display to Hard Rock patrons for a period of six months.

The presentation marks the first time in the entire Hard Rock Cafe history that an artist or band has offered to loan an actual Grammy Award for display purposes. Winners of a recent Grammy in the Best Mexican American/Tejano performance category for their 1996 album, Un Millon de Rosas, La Mafia will take time out of a busy tour and promotion schedule to be part of the Grammy award installation ceremony.

"We wanted our fans to know that the Grammy belongs to them as much as it does to us," said La Mafia lead vocalist Oscar De la Rosa.

Scott Arthur, the former radio personality now handling public relations for the Hard Rock, was equally enthusiastic. "I've worked with La Mafia before. So I'm extremely excited about being the first Hard Rock anywhere to exhibit a real, live Grammy."
