“Female Vocalist of the Year” nominee, Megan Marie Leyva has already begun her journey to stardom.
Born in Croswell, Michigan, Megan was inspired by her father’s love for tejano music and by the top female entertainers
of her childhood. She recorded her first CD demo in Corpus Christi, TX at the age of 13 years and has since attracted a
large following of music fans. In 2001, Megan released her first CD, “Dime” and gained the recognition, which was the
beginning of a promising career for this beauty.
Megan’s hard work, determination and youthful talent are the ingredients that have helped her gain the attention
of the public. She has been working hard making presentations on TV, radio, newspaper and magazine interviews. She
performed at the Market Square in San Antonio, Texas for the Cinco do Mayo Celebration and at The Hart Plaza in
Detroit for the Fiesta de Verano along with numerous weddings and various benefits. A high point in her young career
was a presentation in Lansing, Michigan where she was chosen to sing the national anthem at the 7th annual Cesar E.J.
Chavez Commemorative Dinner where the dinner featured Edward James Olmos as the guest speaker. In addition, she
presented the “Male Entertainer of the Year award at the 22nd Tejano Music Awards where she herself was honored as
one of the top twelve nominees for “Female Entertainer of the Year 2002”.
