Mingo Saldivar is an established hit producing artist who is considered a pioneer by his peers and countless fans. His performance history includes such renowned appearances as President Clinton's Inauguration Gala in 1992, his highly recognized Grammy Nomination in 1993, and the memorable performance at Carnegie Hall in New York in 1994. In addition, Mingo had an outstanding tour in France, Israel, and Jeruselum in 1995. Moreover, Mingo thrilled an estimated 14 million people at the Olympics in Atlanta in 1996, and in 1997 the now famous Mingo was inducted into The Hall of Fame.
Mingo's career began at an early age, and by 11 years, he had already mastered drums, upright bass, and accordion. During his childhood days, Mingo would entertain his family and friends in roped off areas. Consequently, migrant workers in the area gathered around after a hard day's work to dance and listen to his music. Accordingly, Mingo formed Los Tremendos 4 Espadas in 1975. Today, Los Tremendos Cuatro Espadas, consist of Mingo Saldivar on Accordion and Vocals, Jesse Garza on Bass, Charlie Torres on Drums and Alex Delgado on Bajo Sexto. Throughout his glorious career, he recorded numerous albums in the Tejano market. Some of his Top Hit albums were "Pajaro Negro", "Vuelve, Vuelve", "El Chicano Alegre", "Mirame", "Rueda de Fuego", and "The Dancing Cowboy" to name a few. Mingo's first album for Hacienda Records was released in 1979, and now 20 years later, Hacienda Records is proud to have Mingo Saldivar return to his musical foundation; thus, the name of this new CD release: "The Return of the Dancing Cowboy". Because of his energetic jitterbug type dance routine so common in his performances, Mingo earned the title "The Dancing Cowboy".
