Since signing with independent record label, Ultrax Records, and having their
debut album, TU AMIGA, released in July of 1997, Elizabeth Gutierrez and Texas
Fire have been receiving critical acclaim as Tejano music's hottest new act. Their
first single, "Disco Rayado," became their first national hit on the international
music trade publication, Radio y Musica, and currently they have two songs: "Tu
Amiga" and their current single, "Te Dare Mi Corazon," which are both close to
charting nationally on Radio y Musica. Other than Bobby Pulido, no other debut
artist has had this type of initial success on a debut album and at such an early
stage in an artist1s career.
The group is touring heavily in support of the current album, TU AMIGA, and
recently performed with Tropa F over Easter weekend at the Texas Grand in
Beeville, Texas. Rudy Trenino of the syndicated radio show, Tejano Gold,
inteviewed Elizabeth Gutierrez and Texas Fire after they performed which will be
broadcast at a later date. The response was so positive that plans are being worked
out for Texas Fire to tour with Tropa F this summer on several dates. Elizabeth
