The Tejano Entertainers & Music Assocation (TEMA) was founded on July 16, 1998 by Rudy Trevino, formerly Executive Director of the Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA), and Cofounder and Producer of the Tejano Music Awards.

The goals and objectives of TEMA are: to encourage the development of talent that waits to be discovered and lives within the heart of every young Latino and to reconize and showcase those whose achievements and contributions have excelled beyond even their own dreams.

TEMA is a spanish word that means theme and this organization's theme is: New Visions; New Directions; New Horizons.

The 1st Annual TEMA Super Showcase was held in Dallas at Desperado on September 19. Followed by the 2nd one on September 25 in San Antonio at Tejano Texas. The 3rd one was held in Austin on October 25 at the Silver Dollar. With such acts as Michael Salgado, Carlo y Los Cachorros, David Marez, Nadia y Fantazia, Chente Barrera, Delia de Culturas, Fandango USA, Stampede and Nadia y Fantazia.

Finally the 4th one was held on October 30 in Houston at the Far West. The next Super Showcase is in Midland/Odessa at the Crown Royal on Friday, November 13 with Jesse Marroquin, Stefani, Oscar G., Grupo Vida and Fandango USA.
