Ambixion, Stampede and Ruben Ramos
|
Ambixion, Stampede and Ruben Ramos played in beautiful downtown Dallas at Artist Square on July 27, 2001 for the Tejano Wednesday Concert Series produced by Rincon Entertainment.
STAMPEEEEEEDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good thing there wasn't a real stampede at Artist Square last night cause people would have been trampled. What a great crowd. What an enchanting night. It may have been a COOL night but STAMPEDE was HOT!!! To be over to the side with a view of the magnificent Dallas skyline to the left and (an even nicer lol) view of those cute Stampede guys to the right with a nice breeze blowing through our hair (and a bironga in hand , at least mine, Siciliana was drinking water) is something that can only happen in La MECCA. To be in the company of the great DFW TJ'rs and thousands of other Tejano fans , to see them laughing and dancing and singing along on all the songs. (LOL is there anyone in the Metroplex who doesn't know all the words to all of Stampedes hits?) . To see the smiling faces and the girls on the front swooning when Alex shook their hands. Ahh Alex if I was only ?? years younger LOL. The show was full of energy, and Alex was all over the place. Afterwards the guys were signing autographs and posing for pix with a very large crowd around them. The image of The Pride of the Metroplex with the skyline of their hometown in the background kinda gives me a lump in my throat. It was sure what I needed last night. Oh yeah, and Henry Guerrero of WFAA (the local ABC affiliate) was in da house (Ok yeah I know they don't gots houses at Artist Square lol). He was filming part of Stampede's show. He told us that it would be aired on the news last night, but La Raza of DFW missed it cause "we LOL" was all at Artist Square. (Siciliana don't tell Oscar I'm stealing his material, cause I did change it up a bit and he did retire that one along with his gremlin joke.) When El Gato Negro took the stage the breeze was even stronger and cooler (or maybe that was cause Ruben was lookin so cool in his shades) and the crowd was pumped. We had to leave early so we didn't get to see all of his show, but the image stamped in my mind is of "El Harvey de La Onda" dancing his azz off. He loves dem horns. Before I go, I've gotta mention Ambixion. I'm glad I got there early enough to catch part of their show because they were very good. They had Polkadogg playing air accordion along with them big time. PD what did you say about the accordion player? I believe it was a little stronger than he kicks azz (afraid it may error out in here LOL), but ya'll know that when PD is impressed with an accordion player that is saying a LOT. He loves accordions as much as "El Harvey" loves dem horns. Shout outs to WJ, Lupe and all the TJ'rs WJ already mentioned (and any that he may have missed) , and Pancho, LT, Eloy , and I'm sorry, I didn't catch the name of the other DJ that Siciliana was harassing. KICK FM Rulez!!!! La Gringa Check out tejcmnt395.html for Rudy Martinez and Siciliana's review of this concert. ~El WebJefe |
