Tejano Wednesday FREE Concert Series
Thunderstorms? Down pour? Doesn't matter, THE SHOW MUST GO ON!
That is exactly what happened at the Tejano Wednesday FREE Concert Series brought to you by Rincon Entertainment and KICK-FM.
Unfortunally Joe B y Tejano Sol act got cut short but soon Ft. Worth's own Latin Express took the stage.
After playing a number of great songs, Alfonso Ramos came on to sing with them. During a potpourri Alfonso was singing, I started looking around for the accordion player. But there was none! It was 17 yr old Mariza! Man, she can play that keyboard and make it sound like it's an accordion!
Then Mr. Magic, Sunny Ozuna came on stage with Latin Express. I'm telling you, Latin Express can play anything! They're great! Sunny did bring a lot of old memories back. When I talked with Sunny a few months ago, he was surprise when my wife told him we used to watch him play at the Edgewood Canteen dances. He almost fell off his chair. I'm surprised he hadn't heard that before. Sunny used to play for free back then when he was first starting out. Sunny's "Talk To Me" hit the English Billboard back in 1963. Rose up to number 11. Sunny also came out on Dick Clark's "American Bandstand".
Then came Little Joe...........What can I say. It was a great show. Little Joe signed autographs for about an hour. He really takes care of his fans. Little Joe sang both his new songs and Oldie but Goodies.
