  Joe Lopez has left EMI Latin and signed up with Freddie Records. He should have an album out by mid January. And Jimmy Gonzalez is already there, and so far, no news on any reunion.

  SPM is still locked up in state prison, probably quite a few more years despite weekly rumors of his death. And yes, there is also talk about a new CD.

  Sorry, but you're asking for really obscure information. Independent labels rarely keep albums in print more than a few years. Freddie Records is one of the largest indies so that's about all you're probably going to be able to find.
  Your best bet is to contact the band directly. Get their contact info from the record label.

  "Sabor a mi" was more famously recorded by Trio Los Panchos. Let me check some sources and get back with you. I assume you have also checked the web as well as local music stores.

  KQQK was bought by a new owner and they decided to switch formats.
  All kinds of music genres and movements, from punk and pop, to disco and grunge go through up and down cycles.
  Tejano is in a down cycle, sure to revive at some point.
  Meantime, the continuing immigration from Mexico is, has and always will keep pumping up the regional Mexican market, which includes norteno, banda, and grupo music genres.
  A lot of this is explained in my Tejano book (details below).
